DR FREI. FACE MASK WITH VALVE - RECALL

My wife has just had a fascinating morning with Amazon as we received 6 e mails yesterday asking for these to be returned as it has been found they only have 5% instead of 95% efficacy as found in Iceland - the country not the shop. I just want to let you know that you can contact Amazon customer services and get a refund for these without having to return them and go out to the post office and put yourself at risk - as you will find they will not give a return label as they are personal items - though to my mind they could have attached a return label to every order number to do this as the e mails were sent out with individual order numbers on them - of course they were automated e mails. My wife wondered if they needed to be returned as stated in the emails as they needed to be tested etc but evidently not. So rather than worry about posting these back if any of you have bought these from Amazon contact customer services. I don't know if other retailers have recalled them but presume they will. If I can I shall post the notice on here later.

Its a shame because they were really comfortable too. We have ordered more of a different make and hope we are not in the same position a few months down the line again!

Anything with a valve only protects you and does nothing for protecting others against you. They should not be used within the realm of covid but do have other uses.

Sorry for some reason Health unlocked is not letting me post replies at the moment so using my wife’s account to post this reply. These weren’t bought for Covid use - though I am sure many people did buy them for such use, and, as my wife observed so many people were taking no notice of any type of restrictions that she would be prepared to use these as others were taking no notice of her welfare and she was at high risk so why should she care about them - but that’s another matter we have been shielding for over a year so it’s of no consequence. My wife needed masks for working in the garden with compost as she has aspergillosis and an aspergillus tumour in her left lung. At the start of the pandemic it was nigh on impossible to get her usual single use FFP2 and FFP3 disposable masks and in the first month of the pandemic the prices of these mitiplies by 6 abs then 10 so she looked for these reusable ones. Thankfully, we didn’t need to use them as a pharmacist friend of ours managed to get some for us and now we can buy at a more usual price of £30.00 for 10 and occasionally can get 20 for that price.

Just trying to inform others who may have bought them - for whatever reason that they have been recalled abs if they have bought them through Amazon there is no need to make a special trip to the PO to mail them back as a call or online chat to customer service will get your money refunded.

Well done for that and I am not familiar with the exact mask your referring to but I did buy one for garden work with valves as well. I know the feeling about why do we do thinks correctly when so many don't even seem to care at all. The response by humanity as a whole to covid has been confusing for me.
