I bought a vial of 100 chemstrip7 teststrips so i can check for UTI without having to go to town 3 hours round trip. They have a shelf life of over one year but the company I got them from Hardy Diagnostics sent me old shit that expires in three months. They offered a refund but i never got it.

I generally do not believe in expiration dates I have some stuff that expired 30 years ago and is just fine but for something this important i want to stick to the exp date so plan to buy more when these expire. i doubt i can use them all in three months so if anyone wants some i can share them. i copied the color chart fairly well.

The Roche Chemstrips are quite reliable unlike the Chinese crap you can get on Amazon. They agreed closely with my last urinalysis both the dip test and the microscopy both professional and my own results.

I am only using the strips and the microscope method to get a better idea when i need to go to town for the real test :)

Hey spencoid2! My question is , why are you having these UTI’s at all. You need to halt those

I don't know why. I am not catheterizing although it in the plan for today to try a new one i just got to see if i can get it in. I have an almost complete bladder neck contracture so peeing is hit or miss. Maybe the low speed peeing does not clear out potential bacteria? I see my urologist on Thurs next and maybe he can provide options i can handle. He wanted to do another turp. The last one took over two years to "heal" and i still have the bladder issue. Irradiated tissue does not heal very well. My old urologist said he would never have done the turp after radiation but i had been transferred from another hospital with a catheter rammed through my urethra and the uro did what he thought was best. it was an emergency situation. i don't blame anyone other than the doctor who rammed the catheter in.

He also is suggesting suprapubic cath but i think i would like to put this off until my last days.

I can relate. I Had tubes bags and a foley then internal stints for a total of two years. I always had UTI’s and took way too much antibiotics. This drove neuropathy and destroyed my joints. didn’t know if I’d ever pee again normally. I had three nurses try to shove a cath into me in the er for a few hours. I was in k failure . Finally they called in a urologist and she applied lidocaine and slipped it right in. I asked” why didn’t we try that two hours ago”? Because they needed a dr to apply it. Wtf? They brutalized me for hours before calling a doc. You need to find a fix to this. We just don’t know how important peeing is until

We can’t. I hate to see anyone suffer this shit. Please let me know when you get help . ? Good luck .👍

i was brutalized by a doctor which started the whole impossible peeing thing. on the few occasions when i went to a good hospital for a complete blockage, the urologist, once called, had n o problem getting the cath in. just like when a nurse can not get an IV started and an anesthesiologist pops it right in with one hand and blindfolded.

i do have a cath that works at least for now and see my urologist on Thurs. I do have yet another UTI staph this time and am taking Keflex

I took every bad player antibioticsfor two years. You don’t want to go there. These destroy our joints . Staff strepp, E. coli. I had them all. In the end I built immunity to all except Bactrim. Hard on the body . You need to get out of the UTI zone to ensure better healing . Fighting UTI’s is pure misery What ever it takes! 👍🙏

I was under a urologist care for five weeks awaiting a biopsy. Self cathing until I could not .. I don’t envy the urologist job . It’s a brutal one.

If you are not circumcised this may be the cause of you UTIs...We do not need to know the if you are or you're not. Does the doc prescribe Cipro meds?
