So, has it been settled yet? Is chocolate good or not for heart health?

LOL, can't overdo sex.

Read that white chocolate is healthier than dark; but that both are good.

I like them both......and ignore the sugar content? Aren't all carbs eventually blood sugar??? At least my understanding of why low carb diet for my diabetic wife?

Hey addicted2cycling!

I add a heaping teaspoon of "Navitas, organic cacao powder" to the blended drink I make.

I think pure cacao powder is fine , but no sugar. Watch out for cadmium levels. Consumer Lab says the brand with the highest ratio of flavonols to cadmium is Ghirardelli pure cacao powder (no sugar).

Not only cadmium, but lead too. That's why I stopped 💥☣️

Ever had a heavy metals blood test? Being on a plant based diet, I've thought about it. I asked my doc and the question threw him, but he said he doubted Medicare would cover it.

A long time ago I was working for some long time and an industrial situation that involved some incidental lead. I had a blood test then and there was no lead.

However since then I have casually tallied the number of situations as a child in youth or I could been exposed to lead. It's quite a lot - including is an older child helping fix up dilapidated houses where all the paint of course was lead.

This is something interesting to me in particular because of its effect on children, particularly in poor areas. From my reading it seems to me that this is a bigger problem than is generally realized. And it's so tragic too - for example if a child is unable to fully participate in the life that awaits because of subtle disabilities.

Anyway as far as getting older and looking at the prospect of thinning bones, even without the magnification of this problem via ADT, there is apparently a new problem.

According to some research, it's possible that accumulated lead in the bones will be released into the bloodstream as we age. And then all the usual problems of lead poisoning get her or lesser degree might manifest themselves.

I did have a blood test a few short years ago and at that time was no issue. Apparently one can get a certain kind of specialized x-ray that will reveal lead in bones.

On a personal motivational level, this just means more weight-bearing exercise to maintain bone mass.

Exercise, exercise! Against PCa! Against CVD disease! And now a bonus benefit: against the release of any accumulated heavy metals in bones.

Yes. Fight heavy metals! I'm in. But--I must have my cacao with some regularity.

Don't go for the white choco. Like that bitter dark just like ESPRESSO.

Not what you're looking for?

You may also like...

Dark chocolate and APCa

Not that it is likely to make a big positive difference, but from a QoL perspective ......
