This question is not so much about the treatment, but I am asking how to just emotionally deal with it. My ex got the cancer. Lots of plans that I/we made are up in the air subject to how long he is going to live. I wake up with nightmares in the middle of the night. The only thing that helps is Binge watching "Law and order", otherwise I feel like the world is crumbling. God bless producers of law and order. My ex's stats are low, he has what they call it micro metastatic cancer. He is on the suppression Androgen suppression drugs. Now his parotid glands are swollen. He is scheduled for an ultrasound. He had all kids of scan before and they didn't find any tumors or mets and his numbers don't suggest he has any. In my heart I don't think the swellings has anything to do with his prostate cancer. But I am worried.

I agree w you. I doubt the swollen gland is being caused by the PCa.

Try to relax because constant worry can eventually impact your health.

Go Livia.

The salivary gland swelling might be caused by Parotitis...(not to be confused with prostatitis).Parotitis is inflammation of parotid gland which can be caused by viruses or bacteria..

The salivary duct can get blocked and the saliva can stagnate causing growth of microorganisms.

Drinking plenty of water, massaging the area of swelling...and if needed, antibiotics might help. (its not a prescription..its just for info)

No one knows how long they are going to live. You could go before your ex does. Live in the moment and worry about tomorrow when you wake up. Make plans and enjoy life. That's what I'm doing with my wife and daughter.
