Never smoker. Never drinker. Postopt RARP took 12 months to stop incontinence, but still had some stress incontinence. After EBRT, a little bit more leakage, especially after my afternoon espresso which I savor. I cannot explain why, but I have recurrent UTI, 3 total(I'm on Cipro for E Coli now) since RARP. Never never had UTI before! I have to say the healing postopt was less than ideal. Occasionally I do experience a stinging sensation mid-urethra while urinating. Migrating staple?

Hey guy! UTI’s suck . Taking a lot of cipro is bad for the joints .. Never smoked . Drank way too much more than once . I had constant uti’s for a yr . First from a foley then internal stents . I still have a prostate. Imrt and double adt .. No more uti’s for me .. Thank God .These infections bring us down . I hope that you can escape this very soon ..At the end for me , the only antibiotic that still worked was bactrim . Nasty stuff .

We have in our urinary system all different types of Bacteria all the time...But the body's defense mechanisms either keep killing them or at least not allow them to grow muchOnce a person has prostate cancer. .the mileu of urinary system changes and partial blockages cause stagnation of urine. This is perfect recipe for faster multiplication of existing bacteria. Reduction in immunity also contributes to recurrent UTIs.

Few solutions are (1) Drink plenty of water. (2) Use D- Mannose ,a substance which dislodges E Coli bacteria and flushes them out of body (3) Appropriate anti biotics to control UTI. Common ones are Bactrim, Cipro, Imipenem etc. (4) Proper control of prostate cancer.

UTI's are persistent after radiation. The best advice I can give is do self catheterization and save yourself from future TURP's.

All invasive procedures carry that risk. You may be resistant to cipro if you were given it for your biopsy and RP. Pyridium may be soothing (but it stains everything).
