1. How does the Orgovyx (Relugolix) affect the gut microbiome since you are swallowing it as opposed to an injection of Lupron?

2. The NP told me that Orgovyx (Relugolix) is less stressful on your heart than Lupron. Any idea if thats true?

Don't know, but read a lot about heart problems with Lupron.....as I was supposed to be on Lupron for life I said "No Way" and got an orchiectomy. Not shots/no pills/ noT. Prostatectomy with no nerve sparing left me sexless anyhow.. Gleason 9/10 in nerve bundles out of prostate so not possible to salvage anything.

Back 2 years my Urologist suggested Orchiectomy and I decided to run from him and go to an Oncologist that has sold to me several treatments. He is against Orchiectomy but I am thinking to return to my Urologist and accept his suggestion. I am 84...

How do you fell with your experience? _For how long?

May of '18 off they went. No problems. No shots. So only about 3 yrs, but no regrets and I am only 70..

I do not know what happen with the bacteria in the gut, but I assume all the bacteria become eunuchs.

lol - probably. I have had gut problems last year. The doc gave me the typical PPIs and I tried them for a few months and things got worse. Then I tried slippery elm, marshmallow root, aloe vera and 5 different kinds of probiotics and things slowly got better. Then I called and told that to the doc, and of course they just made those typical sounds like hmm or uh huh and wouldn't take note or advice any patients on that. I couple months later all of the tv commercials for ZANTAC cancer causing effects were front and center. They never bothered to call and tell me not to take that anymore.

Good article - thanks. Maybe I'll switch to the pills but I need to decide whether to do the axium or not to see if I should try radiation on the cancer hot spots or if the doc just wants to know where it is and then not do anything, as per sop for some docs.

Cardiac issues in rolugolix tablets are equal to firmagon injections. Both are androgen antagonists.

Does your T actually register as zero or as less than < 10 as many labs test to no lower than that? I'm curious if having zero T might make you ADT sensitive longer than if you are producing ~5-10 T levels while on Lupron. Any thoughts?

I hope it will prolong effectiveness of xtandi. Last T test showed <7 which must have been their testing limit....

When I was researching zytiga a few years ago the premises itiga was that the body produces some testosterone from other areas in your torso is it helps to suppress that testosterone which helps in addition to the suppression of the testicles. Small boy maybe it says less than seven but it's not zero because you're still producing some from your torso. I don't recall the medical or mechanism in your torso and location that produces that testosterone it's easy to look up but I don't have the time right now.

Hey George, the adrenal gland has six or seven percent of testosterone. I had my nuts off a few years ago,the hot flushes were bad at night so I'm on a synthetic eaostrogen cyproterone acetate which takes out the eaostrogen from the adrenal gland. Its a hard road but I have been undetectable for 4 or more years now. And have zero testosterone. Cheers and God bless

Have any studies been done showing that removing the nuts increases overall survival compared to using ADT? When you say it has been a hard road, in what ways? Is it worse than if you were just taking an ADT like Lupron?

Does anyone know who is or will be the distributor of Orgovyx (Relugolix)? I'm 58 and still on private insurance, I'd like to inquire if the distributor will offer a rebate program similar to Xtandi. As of Monday, Orgovyx (Relugolix) was not on the covered Rx list through my employer-sponsored insurance (Anthem BCBS/Express Scripts).

They said for now it is a limited release only through 2 pharmacies (by mail only) US Bio Services and Biologics Specialty Pharmacy. A doctor has to apply for you to be included in the limited release.I went to website Orgovyx.com and then called their info number (833-674-6899)
