Artificial Urinary Sphincter

Hello Brothers

Earlier this morning I had an AUS implanted. Initially I was very worried because of my painful experience with my RP. For the RP, I was in the hospital overnight, on a morphine drip and when I returned home, literally could not move or talk as is was by far the most painful experience I've had in my life. The AUS procedure was a few hours long and I was out by noon, had lunch and feeling decent despite the procedure. I chose to forego pain meds and would describe the pain as a severe discomfort more than pain. The worst part is the burning sensation when relieving myself.

When I heal completely, I'll seek out a PSMA PET scan in mid to late January.

Given the travel restrictions, does anyone have suggestions of a country and doctor/clinic/university to seek my scan. I'm able to work remote, so I'm able to quarantine rather easily. I would prefer a lower cost, balanced with high quality, option in Europe, possibly Australia or South Africa. As long as it's a nice, safe place with high speed internet, I'm open to suggestions. As long as I'm able to stay a few days post quarantine, I may as well enjoy the scenery and natural environment hiking while I can still make a good memory.

Thanks Whimpy-p,

Congratulations on the success of your treatment approach. I'm very interested in learning more about your diet, what you take and how you developed the plan you're currently on. Was it trial and error, did you research to fit your program specific to your needs. A good diet is something we should all try to follow anyway. Kudos for taming the monster.

As far as the PSMA scan, no need to go that far now that it is approved at UCLA and UCSF. Good airport hotels with food delivery near LAX if you can’t get on and out in one day. Hiking not so good. Congratulations on the AUS.

Keep up the good work Whimpy-p. I've been following a similar diet plan since diagnosis 18 years ago, unfortunately without a physician's help.Joe
