Happy Thanksgiving to those in the US!

Today is Thanksgiving day in the US, and for the previous 12 years I've run a 5K on Thanksgiving morning. The pandemic has thrown a monkey wrench into my streak by cancelling all the races. I had to get a bit creative to extend my streak to 13 years. The only thing cancer related in this race report, besides my appalling lack of pace, is a bit of a tangent about anemia and its apparent affect on athletic performance.

I am truly thankful every time I can read a new post by Tom. I am always inspired. But not crazy enough to go running. I was out of breath before I got to the fire hydrant. And that was BEFORE the race.

Thanks for your very enthusiastic support! These days, I use the term "running" for just about any travel on foot measured by a stopwatch. Treatment can do a number on aerobic capacity.

Low RBC's and anemia are real with ADT, literally sucks the wind out of you. Take some B12 occasionally and eat some beef/chicken liver once a week and it will help. Godspeed, keep it up.

Yep, already taking B supplements and eating meat. There's only so much diet can do when you get 9 cycles (and counting) of chemo in a calendar year. Prior to this year I had normal counts on Abiraterone.

As always your posts make me smile, chuckle or even laugh out loud. Good for you. Keep on keeping on.

You have a real talent for writing, Tom; I always enjoy reading your blog. I want to thank you and the other walkers and runners here for inspiring me to inspire my husband to get out and exercise. He now walks about two hours most days. Best wishes and happy Thanksgiving to all!

Glad to hear your husband is getting out. "Two hours most days" is more than I'm currently doing.

Hey tom67inMA!

Good for you! You did "The Thanksgiving Day PCa Jericho 5K"!

Someone else that refused to allow circumstances to deny them from running "Their Race"!

A clip from one of the best --in my opinion--made for TV movies!

And Happy Day After Thanksgiving to everyone. I didn't get a turkey. It was too heavy.

Oh no, 10 lb limit on lifting? I only had a Turkey sandwich for lunch, and spaghetti for dinner.
