Has anyone experienced more severe side effects when lupron injection medicine was changed?
(Not sure which one I started with 2 years ago,but was told latest one was by Eligard.)

They're the same generic medicine (leuprolide acetate)
I know they are supposed to be the same medicine but I felt I had more severe side effects with Eligard than with Lupron. I have had both and felt much more depressed and lethargic with the Eligard, so I went back to Lupron.
My husband made a decision to go off both Zytiga because he couldn’t tolerate symptoms and then eventually Lupron. His oncologist told him that most get side effects that they can live with. But every now and then a patient has severe side effects and my husband is one. The alternative is to go on and off. He may make the decision to go back on. His T just jumped from 22 to 262. So he knows what will probably follow. He has it is his bones with lymph node activity. Although his lymph nodes shrunk while on both and remained even while on lupron only. He has been off since Jan. So next visit he will make a decision. If you can’t take symptoms talk to your dr about taking a vacation from Lupron and see if that’s a possibility.
My husband also felt symptoms were a little more tolerable on firmagon. But I think eventually it didn’t make difference.
Hope you can find a compromise that works for you.
Changed to what?
