How do you know that the MRI-detected bone metastases are bone bone metastases? Were they biopsied

The MRI may be wrong. If it shrinks with ADT, it's a metastasis.

It may not be a metastasis. Radiologists may be very creative sometimes.

There is no indication he has had a PET-CT! You have a problem with the basics of what the paper says?

He had an Axumin PET/CT and a MRI and there was a discrepancy, a metastasis was found in the MRI and not in the Axumin scan.

I am not a radiologist to agree or disagree or have a problem with the basics of the paper you posted. I just said the paper is 9 years old and it did not include information about the new PSMA PET/CT scans and the Axumin PET/CT scan, which have a higher detection rate (or sensitivity) for metastasis than a MRI scan.

I believe that eventually bone scan, CT scan and MRI scan are not going to be used to stage patients with PC, The new PET/CT are going to replace these techniques.

There is a difference between a PET scan and a PET/CT scan. I was going off what the OP said and not what I thought he should have said.

Thanks. All is good. Just finished my first of six rounds of docetaxel with nivolumab (Opdivo) and got thrush of the mouth for my trouble. That is the worst, most uncomfortable experience I’ve had in a while. Got an oral steroid (Nystatan) rinse from my GP and that cleared it up in a few days. So only other major SE - awful fatigue. But I have to say I feel fortunate so far.

I'm sorry to hear about your "thrush mouth" issue... It sounds very unpleasant but at least you're over it... Ahhh fatigue is another matter... Try taking an hour nap in the middle of the day to boost your energy and morale.
