Prolactin

Since PCa is heterogenous, does it make sense to decrease prolactin in androgen sensitive PCa? And, to keep the cancer from becoming resistant to this, should the low prolactin therapy be cycled?

Costello has been the lone voice on Prolactin. Most oncologists are unconvinced by the weak evidence. Estrogen reduces prolactin.

I take an AI because I don't want my estrogen to get too high (ok at moderate amounts but high leads to some issues that I do not want and used to have).

I started taking cabergoline about 5 months ago. As a nice side effect my bodyfat dropped approximately 2% in less than a month. Might not sound like a lot but it was aleady fairly low at 11.5% so a drop to 9.5% was signficant. Lean mass hardly changed at all.

Thanks Krats. Valued opinion. You seem data driven rather than bro-science and you don't seem to think that SOC is always correct no matter what the evidence shows.

I jokingly told my SOC oncologist that Israel had come up with a cure for PCa. Her reply was that she heard that they had done some successful trials on a vaccine but because it wasn't done in the U.S. it didn't exist (I was joking about this "cure" but I guess they have done something so she didn't think I was joking).

Don't get me wrong, she's a very intelligent person and I respect her opinions but I was amazed. If something works to prevent death I really doubt many of us would choose death if the cure wasn't developed to U.S. SOC standards.

And I don't recall the drug, but one of the drugs for SOC PCa treatment has been shown to have zero improvement of QoL and zero improvement in outcomes. But it passed trials and is now part of the SOC protocol because it "doesn't have notable side effects and is inexpensive". My jaw hit the floor when I read that.

Use of cabergolin to lower prolactin has been on my mind for months. Because my prolactin is low..I settled with taking VITEX FRUIT (vitex agnus castus) a fruit of chaste tree from mediterranean. Its available as capsules on Amazon by Natures way co. Vitex fruit lowers prolactin naturally.
