My son age 47 just did Pca test. It is 2.2.

What should he do immediately to prevent progression?

You mean PSA? That is not a test for prostate cancer. PSA of 2.2 is a good result. He should get a germline genomic test (Color Genome Dx).

When I was his age my PSA was about that. At age 59 I had the demon. PSA of 6.2.Been fighting the darn thing for 21 years now.

Hopefully, his experience will be different.

He could get a PCA3 test to see if there is any indication of cancer:

Thanks

Keep him testing often .. live healthy than ever before . You can guide him. Your story is amazing . I think up to .4.0 is normal . As you know some don’t ever have high PSAs .

It's a marker not a death sentence. At 2.2 drink more and care less. Advise a PSA test every 6 months to establish a trend.

That’s a pretty good report card. Get a good urologist and start monitoring the PSA for large increases. The doctor will know what large is but at his age to early for a biopsy. Don’t let them put him on Avadart 😡😡. That will mask the PSA numbers until it’s to late. Fighting the monster 🙏🙏🙏

Thanks.

Since my dad ,brother and I have the demon my sons need to be extra watchful.

Some day when it is no longer profitable a cure and a cause will be discovered.

I don't understand. At 49 his PSA is 2.2? Why is that a concern? I get there's a family history, but 2.2 isn't high.

My PSA at age 47 was 2. and at age 59 it was 6.2 and biopsy I had the demon. I thought it has to be 0.01 to be in remission and cancer free. My demon was discovered 21 years ago. So I am trying to understand what could my 3 sons do to not get the demon. No red meat, no dairy, no ? Different father.

If your son likes mailing letters then check the mailman's psa......

BTW have him check his psa yearly.... eat a mediterranean diet..... lots of sex.....(write down the women's names for future reference)....

Good Luck, Good Health and Good Humor.
