Bone scan was negative. I had first Lupron shot today. I almost fainted when the nurse brought the needle but it wasn’t bad. The shot is for 12 weeks. The microwave starts in June.

Bone Scan
I've read about some clinical trials using microwave and radiofrequency ablation, but I didn't know anyone who had received it. Let us know how it goes.
welcome to Lupron .. May it serve you well and knock the Psa away . I did Lupron for 18 months . Then I did an orchiectomy to drop the Lupron shots . I’m still on a defunct test adt drug Tak-700 that has helped keep me full undecth .. I called it the easy bake oven when I did 8 weeks imrt almost five years ago . Adt and RT put me into remission ... will it last forever? Not likely once stage #4 we will be dealing with this for as long as we can . We all have so many variables and no two us react exactly the same to treatments . I wish you luck . If you’re able to exercise do it often . Continued use of adt stripes first muscle then bones . I fell into osteopenia after not being able to lift more than ten lbs for a year and a half . Good luck Howard ..
Was the nurse that ugly?

Ugly nurses?? I always get beautiful RN’s to shot me. I mean inject me in the right or is it left butt. I wish I could enjoy it longer, the nurses company that is. Too short of an encounter.
My daughter who is a nurse, gave me my fourth shot, she too nearly fainted when she saw the size of the needle.
Excercise....excercise......take a picture of self now......nother in 9 mos....be prepared to cry....did i say excersise.....cant remember.....good luck.....all aboard the lupron train...b.w.
yeah lupron grows the gut and tits. I am going to ride my bike two hours daily and row 1 hours to prevent this from happening.
Nobody said anything about excersing to me almost 4yrs ago when started this trip...i worked const. And had always been prettu fit because of.....well 30 lbs later and 70 perc loss of muscle ...im trying to hang on to so sembelance of the old bw....if your in it for the long term.....i really dont know if anything will keep the fatique at bay....i also am on erleada wich has really knoced th d in the dirt...good luck...fellow luprechan....
I lost 42 pounds and started losing the week after my primary doctor told me my PSA was 156. I ride at least 2 hours a day 2-4 times a week (5 days during RT but not 2 hrs) and walk or run on off days when I can. I was doing weights until the gym closed for covid. I do a little yoga , situps , pushups at home. I have kept the weight off and I am faster on my bike than ever. The weight loss and muscle loss has also helped me fit into those tight jerseys I never could get on before. So it isn't all bad.
I started using my wife’s new rowing machine, best exercise, better than my stationary bike, because it works the entire body.
My wife, who is a medical professional. gave me my first Lupron injection. She stuck the needle into my ample gut, and then couldn't get the safety gadget loose. She left the needle and syringe quivering in my gut whilst she crossed the room to check the instructions on the box.
My second one was delivered competently whilst I was in S. Korea for Proton Beam Therapy which took 3 months in 2013.. Fortunately I have not had a need for it since.
That’s horrible ITCandy. Why did not the URo RN give you the LUPRON Inj? I’ve had excellent results from my MO’s RN. I mean the ones that work in the Infusion center.
One thing I did do but shouldn’t was: the afternoon after my 90 day injection I started overnight in a hotel, went to the fitness center and rode the by cycle for 39 min. Ouch my butt hurt the rest of the night.
She was the nurse at Carbone Cancer Center. My injection was in the arm.
I've had the opposite experience. Had my last of 6 shots at the beginning of last month. As usual my urologist did the deed, and I can barely tell when the needle is in. He massages the area a bit after the injection - since I suspect it unloads in sort of a ball.
One thing he's really really good at - being painless. Biopsy - I was out - but no aftereffects at all. No bleeding, no pain, wouldn't know I had it done if it wasn't for the report. And I've never felt the needle when he gives the Lupron shot.
I personally wouldn't trust the nurses.. I think his practice is corporate owned and the corporation provides nurses - I never see the same one twice when I'm there.
