Hello everyone the radiologist oncologist suggested that my dad first try regular radiation to the areas of his bones where it has metastasized he starts radiation on March 23 five days a week for two weeks and then after that couple of weeks off and he will go on the xofigo my question is to any members out there that do have prostrate cancer and that it has spread to the bones if you have tried radiation to the bones that have it has your pain decreased how do you feel how did you feel I heard that it will be a little bit worse before it gets better after and during the radiation so I just wanna see and know and hear about your experiences with radiation on your bones thank you kindly worries about my dad and how he will handle it he’s 82

At the beginning of February I had pain from metastases in the right hip. Not much was missing and I would have needed a walker. I took a lot of pain relievers. XOFIGO therapy last year helped a little. But unfortunately only for 3-4 months.
In February I had 14 x right hip irradiations and I am almost pain free. Slight side effects such as diarrhea and fatigue, otherwise everything is ok. Greetings and all the best !
