Clinical Trial

My PSA is trndinup after 2.5 years on Xtandi. One of my doctors s talking to me about a clinical trial called LAE001/ Prednisone with Afuresertib. This clinical trial has been going on in China for some time and dosage levels have been completed. therefore I would be participating in level 3 of the the trial. There are only a handful of cancer centers that are participating in this trial Mary Crowley in Dallas is one of them which is a 10 hour drive from my home in Fl. My oncologist in Fl. recommends a more standardized treatment as I am active and the trial is somewhat a tether to either Texas or the recommending doctor in Connecticut who is part of the study also. My question to y'all has anyone heard or experienced this trial and are trials life consuming? Thank you. 🙏

It looks interesting. They randomly assign patients to a growth pathway inhibitor or that inhibitor along with an abiraterone-like medicine. It is just pills you'd take everyday. Once a month, they require bone scans/CT, which I hope you can just get locally.

What other options are you looking at? Which medicines have you tried so far?

Hi Tall Allen, Not sure on the other option yet as my doctor in FL wants to see scans before recommending a treatment, which is reasonable. My doctor in CT is supporting the LAE/001 trial because the Xtandi stopped working. I'm not doing anything until my scans are analyzed which happens next week. I will still be on Lupron and Xgevia. Both oncologists are reasonable in waiting for the scans but my doctors in Ct is the only one who mentioned the clinical trial.
