ADT injection

Had Diphereline injection on Wednesday (3rd injection) and come out in this rash on arms and legs. The nurse had problems as it became coagulated and need two attempts, my flushes have become crazy bad and frequent.

I also had to see my GP on Monday about pressure building in my head, I'm monitoring BP for week and she will decide what medication to give, had a high of 163/102, systolic varies but diastolic not going below 100.

Anyone experienced these issues?

I read the fact sheet for that medication. It says to seek immediate medical attention if you get a rash. Also I'd be more concerned with those high blood pressure numbers than with PCa. The BP will disable or kill you quicker then the PCa.

I see my GP on Monday, she will give me medication to control my BP then.

Does that itch?

No it doesn't but been itching more than normal all over. I had a BP high this morning 172/114, I didn't believe it and took again and it had gone up to 180. Talked with my wife about going to ER and checked again 10min later and it's dropped to 160/110 after I drank a lot of water.

Glad I'm seeing my GP in the morning. I've read the ADT raises BP (Had my injection Wed) and Neurontin (Gabapentinum) also raises BP, I obviously need to get it under control to reduce long term damage.

Those BP numbers are scary. You should go to the ER when they get that high. Ask about Clonidine; it is a rescue drug that will bring your blood pressure down fast.

I had a reaction to Lupron. First got a 1 month injection and developed rash/hives on my face and neck with the skin peeling. I didn't recognize this as an allergic reaction. I thought it was a normal side effect. Then got a 3 month injection and the same reaction happened again, only more intense. My urologist had never seen this nor had one of his partners. He gave me a Medrol dose pack, which are steroids. This cleared the rash, but it came back in short order. I then went to an immunologist, who also had never seen this. She prescribed another round of the Medrol plus two ointments, Desonide and Tacrolimus. Also daily Zyrtec for itching. In addition, she had me apply Cerave moisturizer. This looks to have worked as I finished the Medrol last Monday and have not had a recurrence. I am also now in the last month of the 3 month Lupron injection, which may have something to do with the absence of recurrence. This was likely the last time I take Lupron per the docs. Best of luck.

Yeah, one of my feet seems to be the location for something like this. I'm on the 6mos. injection of Lupron. It's been about a month since it let up but the top of my foot is still scabbed over. Itched like crazy and burned. I may take some Prednisone if it happens again.
