Whelp, I was wrong about my dad's urine and now I'm really confused!

After reading all of your helpful replies and doing a little Googling, I decided to ask my dad some more questions and well, clearly we had some communication breakdowns in our first conversation.

So apparently he isn't having "specks" or "sediment" but more of a dark color midstream. He said that his urine will start out clear and then change to a darker color and then return to clear. He said it happens sometimes once a day, sometimes fewer and once twice in a day. And here's the part that makes me want to shake him.... it's been happening for months! Gahhh! I always tell him to tell me if he has any changes in his urination and then he lets this slide. Any guesses? Also he said that it was happening BEFORE his last PSA test. PSA was up a bit but his other labs were pretty good. (Potassium was a bit low, glucose up a bit)

He says he feels great. Urine stream is strong and he isn't having frequent urination.

I think I'll reach out to his oncologist when we get home from vacation but I'm thinking this isn't an emergency kinda thing since it's been happening for months. Any thoughts?

Some info about urine color:

You could get urine test strips and determine if there is blood, protein etc.,

Stop asking for advice here because you have no way of knowing the truth. Get him to a urologist.

That's my plan... we're just on vacation right now! I'm trying to determine how serious it is and if this is a situation that needs immediate attention or can wait until we're home.

I would try to calm down this forum is great but every body is different and reacts differently than ur dads body they do not have the answers to everything they r patients too but just take ur dad to the doctor u won’t get any answers here just their own experiences and if ur dad doesn’t want to go to the doctor cause ur worried let it be my dad is the same way I have to breath and do my own thing. He doesn’t want to get every single thing checked out.

Breath and calm down I too had so many questions but as I read and get responses from this forum it made me crazier and our doctor even suggested I stay off the internet and google and this forum but yet he’s not any more helpful either.

What will be will be no matter what u do! Good luck I can relate my dad is sick too I feel ur worry.

If he's wearing those color changing sunglasses again, smack him....
