I shared here that my husband started Erleada April 1. He was on Xtandi with a PSA of 2.48. It never went lower than 1.14. Suddenly he jumped to 2.95 after 9 short months. Had scans. Several spots needed to be radiated. He began Erleada April 1 with a PSA of 4.26. Went down to 4.01, 3.99 and now up to 7.9.
He is only on this med 3 short months. This is so disheartening. The Dr wants to scan again. He did say spikes happen after radiation. Would really like feedback. This is a scary ride to be on but always looking for your honesty. Thank you all 🙏
Nalakrats, I always appreciate your response. Thank you! I have never thought about
2 medical oncologists. We go to Mount Sinai and we see Dr. Oh. I do like him. We know the Xtandi and Erleada are similar. It is time for something different... but what?
We have a meeting with Dr. Oh in a few weeks. I also like the idea of a Geneticist.
Is your geneticist in touch with your MO's? I do think that we cannot be paranoid enough!
I keep a close look on everything. Dr Oh said it is possible that the recent radiation could have created the spike Any thoughts Nalakrats?
Hi Carol, Thanks for updating us on the use of Erleada. I was hopeful it would work but there are other treatments to try.
It would be helpful to me if you added your husband’s treatment history to your home page. I have tried to read your old posts to gather it but there are gaps.
In June 2018 my MO started me on Erleada with the hope that it will work for at least the 40 months that the trials had. 30 days later had first PSA and result was very good with PSA going down to near undetectable. The second and third month PSA test both went up. MO concluded that Erleada was failing and took me off it. PCa treatment plan is now complicated because I have been DX with Multiple Myeloma and started treatment for that.
Question; do each of the medical oncologists know you are working with the other? Do they collaborate with one another? Is the geneticist used for the purpose of drug choices based on your gene mapping? What does SOC mean? Thank you Nalakrats
My Radiologist at MSKCC asked me to wait 3 months after SBRT, as the death of PCa cells give off PSA and cause a false reading. He said the radiation kills PCa for up to 24 months. Mike
