Actinium 225

Can anyone advise where Actinium 225 is available? We know TUM offer this treatment but with a chemotherapy pre-requisite which unfortunately we do not meet. Two cycles of LU177 have been completed but the clinic does not feel this treatment alone is sufficient so we are looking at Actinium. Thanks

University of Heidelberg is where they are doing a lot of investigation of Ac-225-PSMA-617- ask for Uwe Haberkorn, Phone: 06221 56-7731. I would guess that they would require docetaxel first, or that you have a reason why you can't take docetaxel.

They have treated many patients who haven't had taxane therapy in South Africa.

I don't think docetaxel impairs the PSMA treatment in any way. A trial (below) with Lu-177-PSMA found that overall survival was 11 months in patients who had already had chemo (and were more progressed) and was 27 months in chemo-naive patients (who were also less progressed). Earlier treatment (while the cancer is less progressed) seems to be better. But earlier treatment with docetaxel, as long as there are multiple mets, is better too. I haven't seen any prospective data on optimal sequencing.

I will be having my first Ac225 treatment on September 5th in Delhi, India under the supervision of Dr. Ishita Sen at Fortis Hospital

Nuclearmedicinetherapy.com is their website and there is a Whatsapp link on the home page if you'd like to talk to her. Keep in mind that Delhi is 9 1/2 hours ahead of EST in the US. They have been doing it for 3 years. Thankfully I habe very good expression so can have it. At the same time I will be having more APCEDEN vaccines made down the street there. They are true autologous dendritic cell vaccines so I will have to have another prostate biopsy taking appx 20 cores. I only have the primary left but can't seem to get rid of it, most likely because it was solid cancer at dx. The vaccines melted 30 tumors up into my cheekbone in 2 months in 2017, but if I quit them it comes raging back again, but for now I feel great and both my oncos over there feel Ac225 may just knock out the last tumor. PSA is currenty 2.07, and alk phos is 56 so things are under control for the time being. This is coming from a 212 PSA and Gleason 9 on August 8th, 2014. Almost 5 years now. No Lupron since January, 2016.

We are interested in this therapy. I am interested in your findings. Is it comparable to Radium 223? Is it for people with alot of mets? We are on taxotere now. Mine qualifies for Radium 223. But very interested
