Hi there,
We're pretty close with enthusiasm, ocean, mountains, but bicycle...
So, did you opt for RP, with evidence of seminal vesicle invasion? I gather this from your profile, this forum has debates about getting RP, with metastasis - can you elaborate?
Yes. I did not know (would not have known about seminal vesicle invasion until the surgical path from RP. So that is why I chose for aggressive early chemo and RT. Bicycle riding was of course very difficult after surgery. I was a heavy roadie. Had to wait a few months and go to different seat choice which was then fine. Now I ride mostly an e-bike ("Whee-bike!). Great fun and longer range options for bike camping and BnB tours with my wife. Chemo ended my race days anyway. "Suffering is over-rated".
Welcome to the club! You are doing great. Best wishes!
Do Ducks.
Welcome to the monkey house, Mateo, and kudos to you for your advocacy efforts. I hope your participation in this forum will be mutually beneficial. As much as I hope we can help and support you, I also hope your background as a physician and meditation instructor will help your fellow members in this forum. Have a great day!
You certainly live in two great places in this world. Enjoy.
Bienvenidos! We live on the OR coast and Todos Santos, Baja. Love your combo of places you have selected. A year ago we spent 7 months in Baja, then, with treatments we we able to spend 6 weeks this winter. I'll take what I can get! Saludos!
That is great 8Knots. Does that mean you are a sailor? We spend most of mid-October to late May-June in San Jose del Cabo. Kite surfing and surfing (poorly) on the Eastcape. Just taking up dirt bike riding there as it is primo for that and so much fun. Maybe we could meet up this Winter for an evening, meal and conversation. where are you on the coast? And where in your journey with this disease?
We live in Gearhart. I was actively surfing until shortly after being diagnosed last late March of 2018. Got the bad news in Mexico and three weeks later did a surf trip to the Mentawai Islands (Indo)....broke same rib for the third time half-way through the trip. I've surfed shipwrecks many times. We also spent 6-8 months of the year in Todos until the diagnosis. I burned through Zytiga and then Docetaxel. I am now on a clinical trial that combines a lower dose of Cabazitaxel with a full dose of Xtandi. Just had my 5th infusion this past Wednesday. It is working so far. Psa dropped from 10.88 to 1.21 over the course of the new treatment. Scans are looking good as well. Just got back from my fourth ocean salmon trip a few hours ago. Whooped!
Great news about your good response to low dose Carbazitaxel and Xtandi. Such experiences up my hope. And you are inspiring to surf those places. I only do waist to head high point breaks on the Eastcape like Destiladeros, 9 palms and La Fortuna. Much better with a kite attached! thanks for your inspiration. Hope to meet sometime.
Welcome to the forum.... very sorry for your bad luck with this becursed disease.... Hope you are still able to participate in some of your Adventure sports.....
Keep on living Brother stay positive Cancer hates that. Never give up never surrender. Leo

Dear Mateo, I just stumbled on this past post . Great photo. I met my wife in Cabo San Lucas . We love it down there. I also looked at bend several years ago as a possible home base . Two nice places . Take care
