Was seen at Duke yesterday...Just for the record..my OC second letter pointed out Xtandi side effects were based on CT for MPC..and just approved for us guys in July have not yet reached that stage..Also the 1% seizure probability or less came from those with brain cancer, also side effects of this group who had MPC were in general not as young or healthy (as a rule)..She included two studies..She continues to support me on the FAA returning my medical so I can come visit everyone for free food...I have MD Anderson as my back up if this falls through...I could drop back to Zytiga but OC does not like that at all..so I am going to keep this up so the FAA may go on a case by case basis.. There are other pilots out there that may benefit if the FAA agrees..So far in my special issuance over 5 years now the Feds have been very reasonable...Daralutimide may be the answer but they will not even peek at that one till the FDA says ok....My flight instuctor went with me yesterday so the Baron flew....Had a great time...summer thunder storms in the South but with radar , nexrad , and stormscope we got back in between two large thunder boomers got the plane put up and the rain and light hail started 15 min later......check up was ok holding my own....Blue Skies ...Grounded Sky King.. Hey J-O-H-N only two take offs and two landings! Saw a poor student which brought back memories of my first cross country....for every 1 takeoff had 2 or 3 landings!!! bounce bounce bounce ! Everyone stay active and refuse to give in...when you feel bad make your self get up and do something...you may get a call to come get me at the airport and the yard should look nice!!!!

Appeal with the FAA
Good luck on your appeal. My dad was a private pilot and flight instructor. He had a Navion in the 1960's and even took it to Alaska when RCA sent him and the family up there. After a heart attack in the 1980's he changed his diet and got back into shape so that he could pass his yearly FAA required stress test. Seems like the love of flying is the same incentive for you.
Best wishes,
Mark
yes have been in the seat for a long time..thanks for the read....Blue Skies GSK

You know.... there's usually an equal number of take offs and landings, If not then you're probably:

Bob Hoover was denied a physical on account of his age - so he got an Australian license. The FAA finally relented and approved his physical.
Trivia: Orville Wright piloted the first flight in 1903. He flew for the last time as a pilot in 1946. 43 years. How much of that time did he have a pilot's license?
Zero. C'mon do you have the brass balls to give Orville Wright a flight check?
What a beautiful ride! And all the good you do with it. Here is to the FAA getting it right and letting Sky King back into the wild blue yonder. I mean they let us drive cars while taking Xtandi. And its not a Boeing 737 Max. Hope this goes your way.
..."for every 1 takeoff had 2 or 3 landings!!! bounce bounce bounce !"
Reminded me of going through Combat Crew Training as a Nav in KC-135s back in the early 1970s at Castle AFB. The brand new co-pilots doing touch-and-go's for the first time in a "heavy" could sometimes really pound that runway! "Take 'that', .. and 'that', .. and 'that'!" The instructors really had to know their stuff. Even more so in the B-52s when they tried to bounce them back and forth from the front landing gear wheels to the back landing gear wheels. If in doubt, don't make it worse, just "Go Around", and try it again.
I always liked the pilots who found it completely natural to just "strap that aircraft to their ass" and put their butts right down the center line when landing.
Perhaps similar qualities are helpful in dealing with things like living with advanced cancer. "I have the aircraft. Roger, you have the aircraft."
