Hi I'm new here so still working through the messages.
My husband is 76 and has advanced prostrate cancer, spread to bones. Also has a heart conditiona and parkinson.
Could anyone tell me if it's normal to have bone pains like my husband: back and ribs taking Xtandi and if anyone has experience of lowering the dose to 120 mg or 80mg? Could it help him? Would appreciate any reply feeling so worried.

I would say so but I am not a doctor but I have experienced bone pain. I have had salvage radiation for a bone met, but with multiple sites xofigo is more likely called for. However, with Parkinson's and a Heart condition Treatment with Xofigo might be problematic.
Thanks, I will point this out to the doctor. I think he has trouble with decision making because of my husband's other illnesses, but at the same time he needs a solution for the pain, so i appreciate your advice.
Could you give us more info regarding your husband? Location? Treatment center? Doctor's name(s)? All info is Voluntary but it helps us help him and helps us too. If you do respond please do so in a future post (not today or to me). Thank you.
A few days after starting Xtandi, lower back pain hit, together with a host of other side effects. 2 months after stopping Xtandi, back pain & all other side effects are gone. There are similar stories out there, from the minority of users whom cannot tolerate this powerful drug. There are stories too of success with cutting the dosage in half. How is your husband doing now (July 21, 2019)?
Thanks ndesign4506 for your replyand feedback. His Psa last month went up a bit, seeing what will happen next week since another blood test is due. I'll post outcome, keeping my fingers crossed. He doesn't have the pains he had at the beginning but he has a stubborn constipation. Did you get that? We've been told that a lot of gas shows up in the xray of his chest we did last week, since the doctor wants to know why he's short of breath (initially he thought it was because of is rib pain). He doesn't do any exercise because of this, also his heart condition (which hasn't got worse) and parkinson wear him out. What treatment are you recieving?
My husband was on 120 Xtandi and lowered it to 80. No ill affects as it has only been a few months. He has no other health issues but arthritis, HBP and hyperthyroidism.
