Yikes. Anyone regret or decline having WPRT due to these issues? R.O.'s and M.O.'s all saying I should have it even with great uncertainty that micrometastases are even within the field. Struggling with this.

I read a lot of the info. Too much really. Why are you focused on this? Do you have intestinal problems? I effectively did 8 wks Rt and had no such problems so far . But I went complete holistic diet. My thought was to only put good things into the stomach , especially during Rt . Yes, people have died from bleeding from Rt . Eat healthy.I fasted two 500 calorie days per week of Rt .. Google “ fast and live” . If you are in poor health besides APC or if you have a bad diet , I believe these contribute to bad colon issues and Rt. Fatigue , so far has been my main gripe with Rt. I still have my prostate. For the last year I feel some searing pain in my Rt site when I hold my pee too long. Like on a car trip.. Dr says it’s fibrosis like scar tissue from Rt. Don’t predict that you will be getting that bad effect. I’m predudice because it was my best option and has worked well so far after 31/2 yrs of no signs . If it were I , I’d follow the drs. Advice . Heal yourself and live healthy as possible. Good luck 👍
Thanks. I am focused on it because yes I have had ongoing intestinal issues, frequent diarrhea, urgency, bloating and weight loss / low BMI of about 19. Trying lower dose and the XR formulation of metformin plus lowering fiber and various things. I suppose the modified citrus pectin could be contributing as well. Had GI evaluations already to determine nothing serious was causing. Have hip osteopenia which concerns R.O.'s. Having to add back in some dietary (i.e. sardines) or supp. calcium, and dietician suggested some yogurt. Hate compromising on the things that might slow cancer growth and adding dairy.
I’m sorry to hear about that. Not serious ? Our immunity is in our digestive tract. A little low sugar Greek yogurt won’t hurt. Osteopenia is in most of our paths. Sarcopenia usually is first to welcome us to the family of side effects ... I hope that you don’t think that Im making light of Your pain with APC . I do not. I commiserate and if I laugh , it’s with you ,and not at you.Im mainly just laughing at my self. Good luck , no looking back ...🌵
Not sure, but against fibrosis nattokinase and serrapeptase could help.
Thank you
If you don't have the treatment, you will have certainty.
Radiation is scary but a primary tool in the fight.
I do not have the experience to say it will or won't have a good chance of working. For me, deciding on a treatment to deal with a new condition always comes down to a few things. Have I done my homework on the benefits and side effects of a proposed treatment? What are the statistics regarding outcomes for this treatment? What my alternative options? What are their benefits and side effects and what are the statistics regarding the outcomes for the alternate treatments?
One final thought is to consider whether a second or even third opinion from a research hospital that has a group specializing in Prostate cancer would help you make a more informed decision. Unfortunately, it seems like our options narrow as this disease marches on, but it doesn't mean their aren't options. Personally, I would not proceed with such a serious decision without more than one opinion and having done a lot of my own research.
Good luck! I hope that you find the treatment that will work best to treat your condition and provide the best overall outcome. Please let us know what you've deciding and how you are doing.
I had all my pelvic lymph nodes radiated in 2015 and have had no recurrence at least in that area.
This might NOT apply to you but here it is anyway (I saved it in a word document so I don't have to re-type it) :
I've posted before so to those people who have already seen this please forgive me.
I had 8 weeks of salvage radiation to "the bed". 5 days a week (not weekends) for 8 weeks minus 1 day for a total of 39 sessions. The actual radiation was like getting an x-ray by my dentist. I never had any side effects during the whole 39 sessions. However 2 years later my left urinary tract was "fried" as per my urologist (or from passing prior kidney stones he was not sure). So i had to have a urinary stent placed up my urinary tract (through my willy which is really nothing - sounds terrible but it's nothing) to aid in passing my urine (which was never a problem anyway). So I had stents in and out every three months for many years and now I'm stent free, However today 15% of urine from left kidney and 85% from right kidney, but not a problem. So make sure you get a good radiologist. Also I don't know if this would apply to you but guys here recommend "A PADDLE" to be inserted for protection of parts of your body. Make sure you ask your R.O. about the paddle and make sure you ask here on this forum before getting fried.
SORRY IF THIS DOES NOT APPLY TO YOU!
Good Luck, Good Health and Good Humor.
