SUV in relation to PSMA pet scans

Anyone able to offer simple explanation of significance of fluctuation and rising

SUV....standard uptake values .....of tumour sites as detailed on 3 separate PSMA /Pet scans over a period of one year ?

Comments linked to PSMA avidity on same type of scan appreciated also.

Reason for question is to better understand the pathway to forthcoming Lu 177 and Actinium 225 treatment .

Thank you.

They have to look at SUV max relative to background. Didn't you get a radiologist's report?

Thank you TA.. ...yes on each occasion of scan I received said report .....it seems my SUV readings have gone up progressively ( with a couple of fluctuations ) over the three that I have had ......I guess my question is :....

With the indicated rise is SUV generally .....does this indicate more avidity for lu177 and Ac225 combination to bind upon via the tracer ?

I really cant seem to knuckle down my understanding on this aspect of the problem.

Thank you for your help.

It depends upon what the report says. It's not enough for SUV max to be increasing - it has to be significantly higher than background. PSMA is the target for Lu-177-PSMA-617 and Ac-225-PSMA-617.

Always a good idea to have it read by an experienced radiologist - especially with a fairly new scan.

I’m pulling for you with upcoming treatments.. success for you ,might just spell success for others as well . Thanks
