Titan Study Apalutamide on MPC gets approval

I have been on the Titan Study for 2 years and just received news on February 5, 2019 that Apalutamide (Erleada) is being approved for use to combat MPC. It was previously approved for use on non-MPC but this now adds another option for those of us with stage IV MPC.

The disappointment for me though was to find out I was getting a placebo!! I, as well as my urologist and oncologist were pretty sure I was getting the drug because I had such a bad rash.

And another disappointment was that about 1 week before Erleada was approved for MPC treatment, I was switched over to Zytiga because my PSA was rising rapidly. This then eliminated me from the option of switching over to Apalutamide! Those of us in the study get first dibs on the actual drug but they continue to treat it like a trial so the Zytiga made me ineligible.

However the good news is we now have another option to use, although Erleada is very similar to Xtandi.

I certainly hope so...my PSA was up to 13.5 when I went on Zytiga Feb 1. It has already dropped to 9.1...:) :) :)
