Unfortunately, anti-angiogenesis agents have so far proven useless for prostate cancer.
Do you have a study in mind that substantiates your statement? Or how did you come to this observation? Thanks!
I’d also like to know why PCa doesn’t react to anti-angiogenesis. I’d heard that tomato sauce etc. did in fact reduce PCa.
There have been lots of anti-angiogenesis drugs tested - all had no or little effect. There are a few ongoing Phase 3 clinical trials, so there is still some hope. Unfortunately, prostate cancer develops work-arounds. I don't keep them all, but here are a few of the major clinical trial results:

Regarding why anti-angiogenic drugs or phytochemical have no or little effect I hypothesize that bone metastases do not appear to be vascularized by blood vessels to the same degree as other types of cancers. The bone environment provides many of the factors that are needed by PCa mets to grow. It may a different story with mets in visceral tissues, such as the liver, where vascularization probably occurs. A potential benefit of anti-angiogenic phytochemicals is the reduction in weight gain caused by ADT, but I have not come across literature that states or suggests this for patients on ADT. Phil
Very interesting!! Thanks
I remember when Judah Folkman first announced the introduction of Avastin (bevacizumab). There was a lot of breathless talk, and I understand it has found some utility. It's often combined with other chemo/targeted therapies. But it has significant side effects and certainly hasn't been the panacea it was rumored to be when it was introduced.
