I would like to ask for help finding the best doctors for prostate cancer in the Ft. Lauderdale, FL, area. I am specifically thinking of medical, surgical and radication oncologists. We live in San Francisco, but my son lives in Florida so I am not familiar with the best ones in his area. Thanks!

Looking for doctors
UCSF has some of the best doctors in the world. Can you be treated there? Is this for advanced PC? Why are you looking for urologists or radiation oncologists?
Google Dr Gary Onik, if you want to discuss cryoablation, a form of focal prostate cancer treatment, which can have good results in low-medium risk cases.
Stanford has some of the best if you live in San Francisco. No reason to run to Florida for treatment if the best of the best are already near you in California. I agree with another comment, UCSF is also excellent, and has Dr Eric Small, a very famous doctor who does a lot of the latest research and clinical trials for Prostate Cancer.
Many thanks to all who replied. I realize I was a bit premature with my request, but I was trying to be proactive. Today we got the results of my son's biopsy--prostate cancer in 6/12 cores, Gleason 6. (It was 7 in two cores, 6 in the other 4.) Next step will be bone and CT scans to see if it is elsewhere, won't have that result for at least two weeks. I still am not sure which type of doctor we need, but I know we will need them. He is only 49, went for a routine physical and this was his first ever PSA test. Rude awakening! He lives in Ft. Lauderdale, so if anyone has suggestions for us, it would be appreciated.
