Have you checked your blood pressure lately? Could be middle ear infection. Check with your doctor asap.

Good Luck and Good Health.

Yes, in the morning, and also light-headed, confused, poor coordination during the day out-of-the-blue, plus cycles of hot-flashes. The very nature of ADT ... some guys have none (and don’t know what you are talking about), to the extreme loss of quality-of-life. Lupron and ADT is a bitch.

I second that.. as one that has experienced {ALL} of the pleasures that castration,ADT ,and having No “T” offer... beats the alternative for me , that would have been sure death.. I’m riding the gravy train. Whoohooo!

Lupron shots really throw me for a loop for about 5 days afterward. I have significant coordination issues day 1, then have very little emotional control for the next 4 days. Usually by 10 days out I'm pretty much back to "normal." Talk to your MO and/or pharmacist.

Yes, the doctor’s don’t have a clue about post implant/injection misery side-effects. (And not describing the first injection issues.)

Lupron ‘s been used for 40 yrs ... 10 days then back to normal, not bad..

I was lucky the wife was driving after I got my 6 mo eligard shot. It hit me hard within 5 minutes. I was tempted to ask her to drive me to the ER but I toughed it out. I was unsteady on my feet when I got home. Things improved the next day.

The last shot was fine from 8am to about 11am. Then I literally restarted staggering into the walls. Went home and slept for 2 hours then hit the gym. Physical control came back to normal much quicker than the quasi manic -depressive emotional roller coaster.

I had similar issues for the first month of my three injections of 30 mg Lupron (4 month).

I stopped having any issues when I switched to monthly 7.5 mg Lupron injections. I have been told that this should not have any effect, but it certainly worked for me. My regimen included Nilutamide, Avodart, Cabergoline and Metformin. I stopped the Lupron in 2016, but remain on the other drugs (PSA <0.006).

I'm wondering what the economic considerations are of getting six one month shots vs one six month shot. I suspect the six month shot is cheaper and who cares (other than the patient) about whatever side effects he has to deal with.

Maybe similar- while on Lupron & Apalutamide (similar to Zytiga), I experienced heart problems and eventually a TIA-like dizzy-making event while walking my dog, making me lean to the right and lose my balance. Although the conditions leading to the latter event were never clearly understood, I since learned that for persons with high blood pressure or other heart concerns, Firmagon may be a better ADT option than Lupron.

in reply to SeattleDan

Better and more costly. My first shot was firmagon and it knocked my Psa away . I was told it was a $10 k shot once a month. Then I was quickly put on eleguard then Lupron ( the mainstay drug ) for many . I believe it’s a cost issue with insurance here in the US.. Lupron is cheaper..

See your Cardiologist and tell your Oncologist. It may be nothing but a case of low blood pressure and an imbalance of sugars. I don not believe that a Pharmacist or Primary Care Physician are equipped to accurately deal with your situation. You need a specialist,

Hey DeanNelson. , the wonders of Lupron.. hope the dizziness fades and you feel better soon .. all part of the game... it should get better...

Virtually all cancer drugs list light headedness and dizziness as possible side effects. Cancer drugs are drugs of a thousand sensations. They can affect how you feel at any given moment on any given day. They can affevt most organs in multiple ways. However, if any symptom persists check with your medical team so they can rule out other causes.

Yes I passed out. I had just eaten a large meal, drank some beer and had a puff of pot. I passed out, when to the ER. Everything checked out fine. A lot of docs will tell you they never heard of fainting or dizziness, but it does happen.

My husband has fainted 5 times since starting lupron. Can’t drive or swim. Hope you are okay. Lupron is toxic in my opinion

5 fainting spells....one OUT on concrete floor. ... the others were a kind of twilight —-didn’t drop, was sitting, had to reorganize, ~15-30 seconds duration, ... haven’t driven or gone swimming since. Depression, suicide ideation—-exercise really helps with those two. Low blood sugars...in the 50’s in AM so I eat some bread in middle of the night..or just eat a big dinner.

Does Exercise really help you that much?... what’s your workout

Sankirk profile image

It’s minimal. Recumbent bike, building up to 45....at 37 minutes yesterday. Started exercising 5 days ago. Had been swimming regularly and had to quit and about 6 weeks ago. Any exercise helps. I felt better the first day.
