ricefarmer, what was your exact diagnosis that you will be getting hormone therapy and radiation for. What kind of radiation? What country are you in?
US
The pills are called Casodex. The shots are Lupron or Zoladex, probably. The gold seeds are called "fiducials" - they guide the radiation, which is probably 40-44 IMRT treatments.
What was your PSA? What was your Gleason score? Did the doctor feel lumps in your prostate?
MY WAS 6.7 AFTER TAKING CIPRO FOR A MONTH,NOT SURE OF GLEASON BUT SAID 5 OVER 4 FOR A NINE AND THE CANCER WAS A BAD ONE TO HAVE, THE VA FELT A LUMP IN FEB THEN THE ALL DOCTORS THE SAME THIS IA ALL NEW AND I I REALLY WANT TO THANK YOU FOR ALL TH INFO I LIVE IN MISS
HI I WILL SEE DOCTOR ON WED PLEASE TELL ME WHAT TO ASK HIM?
In the questions that ctarleton gave you a link to, question #14 is especially important in your case. Ask your radiation oncologist if he has seen the ASCENDE-RT clinical trial, which you can read about in this article:

By the way, please turn off your caps lock.

Even though you may already be well along toward getting some radiation treatment, you still might find some good information at helpful sites like this.
