After 8 treatments of docetaxel not working doc is switching me to zevtana. PSA is fluctuating from 11.2 to 9.4. Is this stuff worse as far as side effects or is it about the same as docetaxel. I do realize everyone is different.

To me the side effects of Jevtana, which I have already had 6 cycles was less. I lost my hair on Docetaxol and had more gastro issues. On jevtana my hair has grown back thick. I am currently traveling in Europe. How do they know the Docetaxol was failing if the psa is fluctuating between 9 and 12?

Had 3 new metastasis from when I started in January. So far all my metastasis are in the bones.

I had 3 doses of Doxetaxol (TAXOTERE) in January and February 2018 but it did not work....mets grew, PSA increased.....my Onc switched me to Jevtana for 3 doses, but that did not work either....last week he switched me to Taxol and Carboplatin, 2 separate chemo drips given one after the other.....my biggest problem is my PSA which was about 30 some 14 months ago, but has kept rising rapidly, hitting 2700 2 weeks ago...I keep getting XGEVA shots every 4 weeks for my bone mets....I think I'm not going to make it much longer.....next step might be just take a chance with a clinical trial.....Ron in CT, age 71.....
