Hey gents
Had my first infusion of Tax last week.
No major issues however my face is reacting with a blotchy red rash.
Has anyone experienced this? Any thoughts how I can control this?
Thanks
Dennis

No. I had 6 infusions of Taxotere, one every 3 weeks -- no rashes.
I've had 12 chemo treatments now. Each time I get rash as one of the side effects. My dermatologist told me to use aquafor which has worked good.
Mine was on my arms. Modified and added to IV's after each chemo. through first 5. My side effects were cumulative, getting worse each time until #9 tried to kill me. Best of luck with treatments, all of us are different and the chemo seems to effect each of us in different ways.

Can u provide some details re “tried to kill me” and what was done to help deal with those bad effects?
Hands numb to above wrists, feet numb to above ankles, '7' knives in my belly, eye sight blurred with double to quadruple vision, eyes just bloody leaky holes in my head. Nose bleed with morning clotted mess for three and 1/2 mo. Shed (sloughed) skin on whole body to the point I had no fingerprints and was very sensitive to sunlight. No driving-- couldn't hold wheel or see. All nails on feet died even though I had iced down. Total exhaustion and not able to eat. + pain in hands and feet when I tried to use them. Developed joint pain in ankles, knees and elbows. Canceled #10. Onc. said I had "hit the wall" with chemo. Wasn't fun. Now 4 1/2 mo. latter still have joint pain, intermittent belly pain (only intense once in last mo.) right hand thumb and first finger numb until used wrong, then electric shooting pain. Feet burn. Vision much better but not what it was before--need new glasses. Other than those few inconveniences I'm doing great (still alive). Should have stopped at #8 when skin sloughed off my back, but didn't know side effects were going to quit being cumulative and were going to get magnitudes worse. Long post, but you asked.
Recovered with help of:
Predisone, dexamethasone, methylprednisolone, all in pill form. Showers with help and full body rub downs with Udder Balm for very dry new skin and of course TIME..

Ya, the stuff can weird things to you. I looked like Herman Munster for a few weeks. Don't despair, it's more than likely superficial.
No. I had nine infusions of Taxotere every other week with nine infusions of Aadriamycin on the off week; plus Keto and Erustamine orally. Given in three cycles of six weeks with a total break of a week between cycles. However we all have different bosses and differing disease progression.
