Has anyone had experience with PCa becoming sensitive to Zytiga or Xtandi again following chemo failure?

Zytiga or Xtandi effective again after chemo?
Going to try to re challenge Xtandi after completing chemo. Chemo can completely change the mutations that drive your cancer, so it is worth a try.
Where did you get the information that chemo changes the mutations? I've been reading for 5 years now and haven't heard this before yesterday. I'm skeptical l guess after so many treatments that have failed.
Someone on here posted a study showing that 6 rounds of chemo can reverse the arv7 in 40% of men had the arv7 reversed. Maybe someone will see this and repost it. I just finished my 6th jevtana, after 12 docetaxol so I know where you are at, I plan to do some more jevtana as my psa is stable, when I need a break I will retry xtandi and zytiga or maybe the new formulation of zytiga , maybe try some DES ,and go from there.
Thanks. Best to you. My PSA is continuing to increase, now at 380 +.
I got you beat: have had XTANDI, ZYTIGA, PROVENGE, and started chemo with TAXOTERE in January 2018....didn't work, so now on JEVTANA chemo.....meanwhile my PSA went from about 30 in April 2017 to 2200 last week.....lots of fatigue from chemo, but my Onc says don't give up...other drugs out there....Ron in CT
You win? What other drugs? What do your scans look like?
Are mets growing? I'm considering continuing Jevtana if scans show limited growth even if PSA is increasing
Next cat scan set for early July to see if mets worsening...meanwhile I have that big problem of extremely high psa...just got results of latest psa....from last thurs May 31...result was 2700.....up from 2200 a week prior....and was at only 30 back in April 2017..big problem...everybody different response to drugs..
Just went through 15 cycles of chemo (docetaxol) did a Guardian test prior and after chemo -- the predominant mutation had changed completely. So will see if Xtandi will now work again.
I did 15 Taxotere sessions in 2015. Didn't have ar-v7 checked. Trying to put off starting Lupron - did 30 months with last shot on 03/31/17. Doing a 150mg daily Casodex for now and will see what #S do. So far PSA came down from 6.1 to 4.2 in a month.

Fight on - Randy
Good Friday Morning Rmanns,
I have been in this battle for almost six years (please see bio for complete treatment history).
Failed Xtandi in 2015-16 after about 12 months. Six cycles of Chemo with Docetaxil/Carboplatin ending 1/18. During chemo break rechallenge with Xtandi. PSA dropped from 1.3 to .7 and holding. It seems to be working second time around!
Best wishes. Never Give In.
Mark, Atlanta
The chemo had been useful before starting back on Xtandi? My PSA is at 382 and neither docetaxel or Jevtana have dropped it. I don't have other options so l may try again.
Rmanns,
Have you ever considered a natural supplement that has the potential to impact PSA and the underlying cancer? For example, IP6 (inositol hexaphosphate) is available over-the-counter from Enzymatic Therapy (Cell Forte IP6) and of course online.
Beta1,3-D Glucan (#300) from Transfer Point has the potential also and is sold online and in some health supplement stores. See Dr. Vaclav Vetvicka interviewed with other physicians at vitawithimmunity.com
There is anecdotal evidence that capsaicin (cayenne pepper) combined with naturally sourced lycopene (V8 juice, pasta sauce, tomato soup, etc.) can be effective.
This video reports a case study with a patient who started off with a PSA of 365 and then it dramatically dropped with a naturally sourced lycopene regimen:

Lycopene has been found in a recent study to have a synergistic relationship with cayenne/capsaicin. I take my cayenne pills with a glass of V8 3 times a day.
Here is a video that discusses phytates (the old name for IP6) and its impact on rehabilitating cancer cells. Dr. Greger does a nice job of summarizing the broad spectrum anticancer impact of IP6/phytates.

This cancer researcher has written the best book on IP6 research over the past 25 years. Dr. AKM Shamsuddin is a professor of pathology on the faculty of the University of Maryland Medical School.

I may be missing something so help me out, it sounds like all of these examples are folks for whom the chemo had been effective prior to Zytiga or Xtandi starting again. Is that right?
I feel like I'm looking for a reason not to try this. I got 2 good years on Zytiga. It really cranked up my arthritis but otherwise I tolerated it well. I'm not sure what that's about.
My father failed Xtandi ( used it for 3 months) PSA increased. Went on chemo (Jevtana and carboplatin 4 rounds) failed chemo and PSA quadrupled. Tried Zytiga with prednisone and for the first time in 18 months his PSA went down. I believe chemo does change The cancer cell and ARV7.
We are waiting for his next blood test June 15 fingers crossed it is moving in the right direction still! Good luck to you!
