Yes, The moderator of a former group I was in had PC metastasized to the brain. He lived with it for several years. I believe he was getting stereotactic radiation for it.

We go in for brain MRI today. Hard to tell if my husband’s balance, one sided muscle weakness, etc is due to 4 years aggressive treatments, stroke, TIA, or what. Hate the pre test anxiety.

I know all about pretest anxiety, It is best to try not to worry until you have some results. There are treatments if it turns out to be worst case scenario. With any luck it will turn out to be negative, please keep us posted

yes, very bad prognosis...when PCa gets to the brain it is usually also in the lungs and liver

I know it's rare for it to show up in the actual brain tissue. More common is to have it at the base of the skull.

All is well with brain scans. Live to fight another day...

So the scans showed nothing, and they were negative? I am so happy for you!

My husband has mets to the skull. Had 14 radiation treatments in February. Brain MRI last week shows new mets to the skull. He has left sided cranial nerve damage. Must drink through a straw and left eye will not close. He cannot have radiation to the skull

again so waiting for the Drs in Boston to come up with a plan.
