have you noticed those seeking treatment often are the same ones who have a tendency to procrastinate when it comes to death ?

medical treatment for advanced P/C
Funny how that works...
Hi joeoconnell
Here I am again. I now know that you are 89 years and had this cancer about 2 years ago. You are quite happy as being VA your treatments are practically free.
Here in Australia I can go on Zytiga and it's only cost me pitiful as it is under the governments PBS.
You mentioned about vitamin K. I did suffer haematuria and was concerned. After on and off gross haematuria (very bloody urine) over the last 11 days I found that this is minor as my blood counts and other organ functions are OK Urine test no infection.
On vitamin k it is actually a reverse of blood thinning. I thought I have caused unnecessary bleeding so I spoke to my doctor about oral intake on vitamin k.
My doctor told me it is not necessary as my blood loss is insignificant.
So I am still quite healthy and hopefully my haematuria is self induced from my pH and baking soda treatment,
Sorry if I bore you,
Roland
Life is what you do while you're procrastinating death.
Of course what do I know?
Not sure what you’re trying to say. If you mean that some guys are already metastatic at biopsy with high PSA readings I agree with you and wonder why they weren’t getting tested all along. But most guys discover their PCa early enough to get cured so they’re either getting tested early enough to find it before it’s escaped and curable or just fortunate that their cancer isn’t high risk when they decide to get tested.

Bob I had no symptoms other than some unitary/bowel probs for 2 weeks. Off to doc, bloods showed 200 PSA, DRE with prostate about X3 in size so off to hospital for biopsy, MRI and then bones. Biopsy 12 cores all cancer, GL 4+5, bones 40+ tumours. Never any probs other than those 10/12 days of irregularity. So told I must have had PCa for 3+ years no symptoms but so advanced no poss of surgery, radiotherapy etc. Am fit well and happy. Bones clear, viscera clear, great treatment and PCa mates plus 'unlocked'
I was going to look up the word procrastinate, but I think I'll look it up it later.
Good Luck and Good Health.

The point about PCa is that it shows no symptoms until it’s metastatic to bones. That’s why you must get PSA tests every year !
Bob
Bob,
My husband was 47 when he was diagnosed with a high PSA and he was metastatic. We never thought to have his PSA checked.
Blair
That’s not unusual particularly nowadays . I guess I was fortunate to work for a company that did annual physicals including Psa tests when I was age 40 back in 1984 although I wasn’t diagnosed until 2013.
It’s another reason why the current guidelines for Psa testing will not help the unfortunate guys who get PCa at an early age.
I’m very sorry to hear of your predicament!
Bob
