Excellent news> Thank You for the information.
I recently had a FoundationOne test run on a biopsy sample from PCa met in my liver. Found numerous genetic defects, but most of my results were not actionable, although the 40+ page report does highlight potential clinical trials. Not a problem with Medicare coverage.
Best wishes. Never Give In.

Exactly! It's like being told you have Alzheimer's Disease. O.K., now what? I also had a similar genetic profiling test several years ago. It came up with two gene mutations. One, at this point in time, is inactionable. The other mutation would require using a current drug approved for melanoma, but not PCa. which would require an appeal to the manufacturer for "compassionate use." I learned recently that there is a company, Early Access Care, that, for a fee, will expedite the connection between one's physician and a given drug manufacturer. Although, at the moment, I am not in need of such a service, I did discuss the off-label use of the melanoma medication with my oncologist. He has had mixed results. When he went to bat for a patient, filled out all of the proper forms, spoke with representatives of the drug company, the request was declined. However, in another case for the same medication, the patient and his wife called up the drug company, presented their case and were given a year's amount of medicine, free! Go figure.
