stopping zitiga. Sent reply but need information. When is it safe to stop taking?? Just finished Radium 223/ taking eliguard - zitiga - dexamethasone- PSA jumped up 3 points in last month. Dr. Just took him off zitiga for a break. What is the opinion about this ??

Is he taking the dex with zytiga instead of prednisone? I know when we stop prednisone after long time we must wean ourselves off it, and I am sure it is same for dex unless he is continuing dex? What numbers are we talking about with psa? What other meds has he done so far? was he having side effects with the zytiga? My PSA bounced around up and down for many years, what we look for is a continual rise, when will he have another psa?

PSA 53 feb & 58 March (month) reducing dex 1 mg for 1 week then 1mg every other day . Stopped zitiga & reduced dex on March 28. Also finished 6th radium 223 on march 21st. ( around that date) been on Eligard- zitiga (changed from prednisone to DEXAMETHASONE in jan ) zometa. Taking zitiga for 1 1/2 years with 5 mg prednisone. No organ involvement but numerous bone mets. 82 years young!
