I was also diagnosed 24 years ago, been through surgery, every hormonal ablation drug, radiation, and immune-therapy. The battle goes on. I am presently on the Eli Lilly drug trial that uses xtandi and the Lilly drug or placebo. Whether I am on the real drug or a placebo, the xtandi has taken my PSA from 130 to 25. The battle goes on.
The trial started in April. I get xtandi and another bottle of something labeled LY3033514 or placebo. It is a blind study to measure how much longer men get a benefit from xtanti with this other mystery drug. So I don't know if I am getting the mystery drug or a placebo. Whether it's the drug or not I am responding well to the xtandi. My PSA went from 130 to 25 so far.
In spite of the gleason 9 score I got 24 years ago I have responded well to all treatments I have received. With a few drugs I have had bad side affects and had to stop them. But as long as medicine keeps coming up with new therapies I am happy.
As identified here, LY3023414 in the trial is a PI3 Kinase/mTOR Inhibitor:

This paper explains the activity of a mTOR inhibitor:
