I’m going on holiday in a month. I’m on 60mg lisdex - finally settled on a drug and dose that’s working for me after 8 months since diagnosis.

I checked the requirements to take my meds to the country I’m visiting and supplied everything asked for. Including a copy of my prescription and a letter from my consultant.

And ive been told I absolutely cannot take my meds into the country.

Im angry and upset and would happily find another less discriminatory country to visit. But it’s too late. Im faced with a horrible withdrawal and re- titration back up to my current dose. I’m going to be affected for 6-8 weeks - allowing for my holiday and my expectation of feeling awful while titrating back up.

I’m worried about withdrawal affecting my expensive and very much looked forward too trip.

I know lots of countries have very strict rules about various medications but everything I read led me to believe so long as you have the correct permissions it would be fine.

Basically the view it it’s an amphetamine and they aren’t allowed. End of.

don’t know if there’s anything I can do at all. I’ve contacted my clinic to ask for advice.

I don’t suppose anyone has been through similar?

TIA

BB

Hi. I don’t know where you are going but I traveled from the US to the UK having gotten all the necessary paperwork like a copy of the script and a note from my doctor ahead of time.

No one even looked at any of it. Either going or coming back. I had the medicine bottle in my carry on.

Hang in there and I hope you get this resolved so you can have a good holiday! 🤞🏻
