Elvanse, Dexamfetamine sulfate and sleep

Hi there

I have been building up on Elvanse from 30mg -70mg and think it is fantastic. It reduces my overwhelm, I stop faffing, I stop beating myself up and my husband and children like me more. I set up my own business. I have energy- I could go on and on!

But I can’t sleep on it. My doctor has now put me on dexamfetamine sulfate 10mg which is same drug but you need to take a few over the day. If I take over 10mg a day - same problem with sleep. Issue is it wears off at 4.30 or 5pm and I still have 5 hours of family time/cooking etc to get through. The Elvanse saw me through, but the lack of sleep was unsustainable.

Does anyone else have experience/tips?

I don’t know if I should take a teeny dexamfetamine dose in the afternoon or go back to an even lower Elvanse dose than I started on.

I know that I have a doctor that I can ask this of but its also useful to hear others’ experiences.

Thank you!

Some patients take a small dose in the afternoon. Maybe 5mg or less
