Hello Clarkey,
Many people who have ADHD experience "dark thoughts" from time-to-time, and many also have depression or symptoms of depression. But it does not have to be normal, nor should it be accepted as normal or "just the way it is."
If you're experiencing these dark thoughts, especially after stopping medication, you need to be in touch with your doctor as soon as possible. If these thoughts are overwhelming or won't stop, or if you think you might harm yourself, please contact someone who supports and can help you right away.
In the United States, please call the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline today 800-273-8255. You can find more information online at suicidepreventionlifeline.org/.
