I am preparing for yet another quarter and potentially year of online college classes. I hate taking online classes especially with my ADHD. It’s like all the skills I would normally use in the classroom don’t work when I am at home. I become unmotivated and just don’t care as much. It is so frustrating. I know that staying safe is important right now but boy do I wish I could complete my last year of college in person.

Online Classes
I feel ya...but to be honest, my last year was the worst (nooooo motivation). I had come so far!! I just had to connect with friends in my program and we encourage each other.
You can do this!! Do what you need to...don't give up!

Hello, Mille_5~
I just finished up some online classes in film and photography. Yes, they are harder to do online for us easily distractable ADHD'ers!!
One thing I did was to ask my fellow students to do an online study group together. About 5 of us really helped each other out. We exchanged stories, asked questions, and helped each other get through the classes.
Good luck on your studies!! Hope this helps you some.
Best regards~

I've been both an online teacher myself and a person who was not able to complete an online course at my job. That was kind of embarrassing.
I have a hard time doing things I'm not motivated to do. Sometimes I can get a routine going and keep it long enough to do something. This works best in the early morning when I don't have a day's worth of stuff running through my head.
I just can't handle the online classes. I don't have as much trouble studying on my own, I put everything in order, I try to organize my time and maintain a pleasant environment to study or do homework and projects, suddenly I start to procrastinate but I try to realize in time to return to what I was. But connecting to the class online and trying to listen, to pay attention has become too frustrating. As a rule we have to keep our camera on, so we have to be attentive and sit through the class, but for me it's very difficult.
Like you I feel unmotivated, I like to learn, I genuinely like to study, go to school, listen to the knowledge that teachers share with us, interact with them and my classmates. At least in person I have a little more room to behave "properly" or "normally". But online classes, I repeat, are not my thing.
