A realization

I think procrastination comes when you have way too much on your plate...

For example, from my experience.. I am starting to become WAY more of a procrastinator and super forgetful even amongst bringing a point in a conversation more than EVER before. I am part time college student, working at an after-school program Monday-Friday and on Saturdays behavioral coach. However now I don’t have any work cases for my position as a behavioral coach. As a behavioral coach I had to write progress notes which was absolutely dreadful. But anyway, now that I have free time in the weekend I am now catching up to how am I emotionally, physically, and mentally. I want to relax. I say I’m going to write that paper I’m suppose to write for school but haven’t gone to it because my brain is just exhausted, it is overloaded with so many things I have on my plate.

If it weren’t for me having to be on survival mode in this phase of my life I wouldn’t put myself in this position. But I have to due to jumping from home to home.

Anyway the point is, my realization with myself is that I can function if I get the good amount of sleep I need, and do work that I can handle to reduce procrastination and forgetfulness.

What are your awareness on procrastination in your life?

I can relate to what you’re saying and have found that sleep is a big support factor in my ability to be resiliant. I’m also operating on the theory once I get things better under control I’ll be able to manage the systems put in place. However right now there is so much to catch up on, it’s just a theory.

Good luck!

I agree with you. Procrastination tends to come from feeling overwhelmed with everything at once for me. Instead of working through what I need to do I find myself doing research or hyper focusing on a activity I'm into instead of getting anything done.

I think if you can tackle one task at a time that generates energy to go to the next task. For example, if you have 4 things on your list, don't say "Well, it won't happen. " and get discouraged. Just do the first task, then the second and see how far you get. Procrastination may be fear of having victory over what challenges you. Have a good day.
