Hi I’m Shawn (41/M) I was diagnosed with ADHD about 3 years ago and am trying to learn how to manage my professional career and the struggles I’ve had with executive function.

Hi shugaboom, glad you found this online community. Executive function is one of the more prevalent challenges for those with ADHD to manage well. I might suggest keeping a journal of how you respond or behave in certain situations in the workplace. Then you can think of some strategies to manage undesirable choices or behavior. In other words, what are your triggers? I know that impulsivity and randomness can really be a problem for some of us. For organizational strategies, maybe you can brainstorm ideas to simplify work tasks. This will make it more natural and therefor doable for you. Being confident in your work will make communicating with others less strained. Wish you well.

Following. Could always use new ideas since I manage a team which comes with a high level of responsibility.
