I have an interview with NVIDIA in 20 minutes and my Vyvanse just kicked in.

This stuff seems to make it seem like I could conquer anything. For better or for worse... this job could be fun.

I just hope I don't talk too much (like the Vyvanse has me doing normally when it first kicks in).

What’s NVIDIA? In 2-3 sentences describe what your job would be. Reason I say this is because i’m pretty simple minded never went to college

I’d be enabling artificial intelligence on extremely powerful computers.

First interview went well, but it wasn’t technical. It’s the next series of interviews that get really challenging. I’m not holding my breath and even if I get a job offer, I’m not even sure if it’s going to be more than what I’m making currently. I guess I’ll have to see what happens.

That’s so not a typical day at work for a lot of people. Very neat !

So here’s an update.

Last Friday I went to a location in Washington DC where I was grilled like crazy for 4 hours by 5 different interviewers. Holy crap.

Originally I left thinking I did well, then I reflected back and started thinking I did awful, then I pretty much got the point where I assumed I did so awful I might as well move on and not expect anything.

My buddy that works at Nvidia (and referred me) emailed me tonight in reply to my asking him if it’s a no-go and he says “you are good. Wait a little longer :-)”

I suppose this means I should be expecting an offer?

I’m actually completely beside myself with joy at the moment. For one, Nvidia today is like the equivalent of working for Xerox in the 1980s, Microsoft back in 1991, or Google in 2006. It would be a hell of a career move. But it would also mean a lot for my graduate program to be able to do valuable research for such a company.

My fingers are still crossed but it sounds like i might be expecting an offer any day now. Now whether or not the offer is for more than I’m already making remains to be known, but I’m hopeful.

Thank you guys for the support!

Well I just accepted the offer. In 2 years time I’ll be able to pay off the 529 plans for all 3 of my kids and in 4 years time I’ll probably be buying a new house with the options they gave me. Holy crap, this positivity and hard work thing sees to be working.

I am seriously feeling like I’m livng in a dream world right now.
