Roaccutane

Hi guys, I’m new to this group. I’m 22 and been suffering with acne for 4 years now, earlier this year I started to suffer with anxiety out of the blue. I’ve recently come out of a long term relationship and had just had enough with my skin and was so fed up I went to a private doctor and he has proscribed me roaccutane. At the minute I’m on 10mg a day, but since being on the tablets I feel my anxiety symptoms are getting worse, does anyone have any experience with this? I feel light headed constantly and I’m getting annoyed with myself thinking it’s just me but then I wondered if it was the tablets. Please if anyone has any advice I’d love some help!

Are you constantly looking in the mirror? If you are stop it that causes anxiety. Having mood swings is normal on roaccutane but to be honest I haven’t had any side effects except dry lips

It came on out of no where, I genuinely thought I was dying one night in January and the Doctors said I had a virus but I gave myself a panic attack with feeling dizzy... and since then I’ve just never felt the same always light headed and headaches and tired and my eyes feel weird haha! Had my bloods done loads and nothing unusual so just got to accept its anxiety now

I am on roaccutane as well. The doctor should have told you before he prescribed you with roaccutane that depression is a symptom. If you have suffered from depression previously then it shouldn’t have been prescribed to you as this can make it a lot worse. I would go back to your doctor and ask him about this, say that you have been feeling down since you have been on roaccutane. Hope this helps x

Hey! Yeah I knew it was a symptom before I even went on it but I didn’t know if it would make my anxiety symptoms worse or not. To be fair I’ve been good for a while now and I’m on 30mg now, my skins so clear and I feel miles better in myself! I hope it’s working just as well for you xx
