hi there ... I am a single momma to a beautiful 9 year old child. The last 10 years have been the most challenging as I been trying to heal myself while raise a little human. I am tired of being in constant survival mode and feeling like I can't get a control of all the pieces of my life together. I am tried of the shame and guilt I put on myself of knowing what needs to be done, but can't seem to do it. I am ready to ask and accept the help I need to regain my power.... I want to live life, not survive it . I am looking forward to connecting to other women who struggle with ADHD. It is nice to be around others who just get it...especially feeling so missed understood most of my life. I was finally diagnosed after my first and only baby turned 15 months.

Dear yem900:

Welcome! We are glad you are here. It is so important to take care of ourselves even while taking care of our little ones. And by just joining this group, you've taken those first steps!

You're doing a great job especially since you are raising a child. Those days can be trying for any parent but especially so if you have ADHD.

If you don't have a doctor that you see to help treat the symptoms of your ADHD, you can take a look in our directories to find an ADHD specialist near you.

Here are some other resources that you might find helpful:

Content on HealthUnlocked does not replace the relationship between you and doctors or other healthcare professionals nor the advice you receive from them.

Never delay seeking advice or dialling emergency services because of something that you have read on HealthUnlocked.
