thank you for adding me to the group. My 8YO was recently diagnosed with inattentive ADHD. He has been in a Montessori program since he was 3. it's no longer working for him. I am considering homeschooling next year to help him catch up and understand his learning styles - can anyone recommend online learning curriculums that we could use to supplement/spport our homeschooling. Thank you.

Online Learning
My daughter got kicked out of a Montessori school at about the same age. The teacher was actually quite nice about it. She saw my daughter's issues before I could see them. She KNEW she would do better in a structured environment at public school with teachers who could handle her personality. I gotta say, It felt like someone had gutted me when I left her that first day at the public school with 20 other kids in little desks. Looking back, that teacher was 100 % right. An unstructured environment and ADHD child just don't mix. I love the Montessori concept/way of learning and it was awesome when she didn't need to actually learn to read, etc..Meaning, using her hands to make stuff was GREAT. As soon as the kids need to start learning to read using the Montessori tools, most just can't stay focused long enough to benefit from the cool boards. Good luck!
