Learning as much as possible

I'm glad I found this community. I am gathering a list of books and resources to start educating myself on ADHD. I am in the process of getting my 9 yr old son tested but I also think his dad (my spouse) has ADHD and possibly my step-son (age 16)- who recently came to live with us. I'd love recommendations for your favorite books or learning resources- things you've found helpful to develop a base of knowledge as I begin this journey of supporting my loved ones.

I'm mostly interested in parenting books/podcasts/youtube series/etc but I'd love your best recommendations for adults/partners/etc as well.

This video right here. I wish prescribing doctors would just hand out a link to it when they make the diagnosis.

Barkley also has some great books, and fact sheets on his website. He's definitely a great starting point. Adapting his list of school accommodations for home has helped us so much: russellbarkley.org/factshee...

I've also gotten a lot out of the book "Smart But Scattered" by Peg Dawson and Richard Guare. It was recommended to me by two different psychologists. Not directly about ADHD, but in dealing with executive functioning issues.

My favorite new resource is a book called "The ADHD book of lists". Very thorough resource based on scientific research. I like the print version so I can mark pages and highlight areas of most interest.
