I have a son who is 6 in kindergarten. He is medicated and did pretty well in pre k after he received treatment. He's not doing so well in kindergarten and his teacher doesn't really acknowledge the fact that he has adhd. What can I do to help him and her??

Your son needs positive praise. I would meet with the teacher (and principal if necessary) to implement a positive behavior plan. Since he has an ADHD diagnosis you can easily get a 504 which is a legal document that the teacher must follow. Teachers are less likely to have patience with behavior issues than say a reading issue (I am a teacher so I see this often). What she needs to understand is your son is not intentionally trying to be naughty. All children want to do well if they can. Kids that have ADHD have a lag in development so they are behind their peers in behavior. Good luck and keep advocating for your little guy. You are his voice.
Thank you. I'll talk to someone about it.
