Increased dose
Medication doses depend on age and weight. If your son has been growing with no dose change or if he recently started on Vyvanse and had a response that seems to be not as good at this time, a dose increase can help.
Yes! My son was on 30 mg of Vyvanse since kindergarten (now 3rd grade) and he had grown a lot. I didn't realize we should increase until 3rd grade started out as a NIGHTMARE. I think the change in expectations in 3rd grade plus the medication wearing off around 12:30/1:00 made things very tough. We started more emotion/behavior management efforts at home but we also talked to the psychiatrist. He had us ask the teacher to observe his behavior for a week and answer a questionnaire. It was clear that it was wearing off early which impacted the afternoon big time. He increased the dosage to 40 mg. Took a few weeks along with the emotion and behavior efforts and things are back to "ADHD normal."
Hopefully you'll see improvement soon. But, depending on age, you may need some emotion and behavior help as well.

One grandsons Focalin XR had to slowly be upped over the years as he grew. My other grandson is on Strattera. When we tried to up that 40 mg after a couple of weeks he went ballistic and we had to cut it back and add a mood stabilizer instead
